The landscape of war has changed and continues to evolve by the decade.
The best militaries in the world only remain so if they have the best weapons at their disposal to launch successful offense and defense. One of such weapons is the Rafael anti-tank weapon. Today, many missiles are highly advanced and will breach the defenses of battle tanks. For a military to be successful in tank warfare, it has to have the best protective features to guard against sniper fire. What better way to do this than to deploy a device that is shaping the battlefield.
Trophy
Trophy is an anti-tank weapon developed by Rafael to increase not only the success ratios of tanks but to ensure the survival of crews when they are in the thick of battle. Trophy has carved a niche for itself because it improves the defenses of modern tanks. Currently, we have seen this system installed by the US army on its Abrams MBT, Namer APC, and other tasks like the Merkava 3 and 4 MBTs. Its flexibility is what makes this anti-tank weapon a top draw for national militaries around the world. It is versatile and adaptive, making it a flexible choice for militaries with different types of tanks in its fleet.
How does it work?
How does a Trophy anti-tank weapon work? Very simple. It simply creates what is called a neutralization bubble around the tank with the system. Once a rocket is fired at the tank, Rafael's Trophy detects, classifies, and engages the threat. Some of the threats Trophy can detect include
- AT rockets
- Heat tank rounds
- Recoilless Rifles
- ATGM
- RPGs
Trophy will detect the threat before it is initiated so as to give the crew precious time to return fire before damage is done to the tank. This anti-tank weapon makes a crew more proactive and lethal. It also maximizes a crew's fighting capacity.
